Mass Spectrometry Platform manager

SingMass, a new National Laboratory of Mass Spectrometry at the National University of Singapore and A-STAR, invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Manager of the platform.

This position will have general responsibility for maintaining and improving services in Proteomics and Small Molecules analyses and will report to the Steering Committee. The Manager will coordinate the staff members of the different units, monitoring all technical and administrative aspects of the facility. The Manager will advise users on experimental designs including sample preparation and options for handling and interpreting data, available reports, write proposals to maintain the platform with state-of-the-art equipment. The Manager will represent SingMass at scientific conferences, coordinate sample analysis and ensure efficiency of the equipment. In consultation with the Directors and other staff, the Manager will be responsible for the budgetary aspects of the platform, including monitoring account balances, preparing budget reports in collaboration with the administrative staff of the A-STAR unit.
The Manager will have to suggest possible ways to increase efficiency and reduce costs, implement methods, bioinformatics resources and other measures to improve quality of the service.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent, a minimum of 4 years of experience in mass spectrometry, preferably in both proteomics and metabolomics and good communications skills.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
